Informations

Wherever is the place of the course you would like to intend to, you will have to buy your own ticket and organize your arrival, for example at the nearest big town. Once there you have two main ways to get to where Eric will be waiting for you :

 - Each trip is organized in collaboration with a local travel agency. This agency can arrange for you the easiest way to get on site, along with many related services. At your request, Eric will be happy put in contact with the dedicated agency.

 - Of course, the other way is to travel by yourself, the way you like and you just meet Eric as it will be agreed by emails.

...

Visas.
You have to organize your flight trip to reach us at Kathmandu or at New Delhi.
Nepal: you can get your tourist visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport.
India: it is compulsory to apply for the Indian visa at the Embassy of your country.
Do this formality well in advance. The Indian section in Paris is used to charge 115 Euros for urgent visa.
From the airport our staff will take care of you.

Insurance.
Be sure your insurance is ok with trekking in Himalaya.

Equipment.
The golden rule of any trekker is to carry only what is necessary for his trek.
Most of the Air companies allow twenty kilos luggages and a hand bag of seven kilos.
The best is to travel with the clothes that you will wear during the trek.
At Kathmandu you can buy any sport wear and trekking equipment. One of our staff can assist you to buy what you need.

You can add embroidery on your clothes, to personalize them.
At New Delhi you will not find the same facilities as in Nepal.

During the trek our strong porters will carry your biggest bag: you will be carrying the lightest: about 20 liters, with the minimum of weight.
Daily personal items: cap, goggles, sun cream, water bottle, dry trekker’s food. Do not forget your personal daily vitamins or medicines. Few fresh fruits are available in remote hamlets. Any imported food is expensive during the trek.

For safety, have a light stop wind jacket, and a light rescue blanket.
A camera with a big zoom X10 catches far peaks as well as landscapes. Eric is found of photos and you may share a lot about photos during our treks. Bring a spare battery because it is not possible to recharge in any lodge: it is paying.

A small yoga mat or camping mat is useful at any stop, for stretching.
Your big bag, carried by a porter, should be filled with spare clothes. Look at our itinerary to know which clothes are adapted. Avoid heavy clothes. It is recommended to have a light sleeping bag because the heavy blankets of the lodges are not washed everyday.

The shoes are very important. Avoid new shoes. Light trekking shoes may be used everywhere, but crossing high passes requires warmer trekking shoes and big socks. Do not forget that the weather is changing quickly in the mountains. Small gloves and loose but warm clothes are also useful for daily outdoor yoga.

If you want to swim and paddle at high altitude lakes, bring your long wet swimming costume. This is not available at Kathmandu.
Trekking poles are recommended. They are available at Kathmandu.

Fitness
It is highly recommended to be fit before starting a trek. Practice any kind of exercising at home, and trek if possible.
Make the right choice of your trek. Better to select an easy trek than a trek which is above your capacities.

Eric Lon is a physiotherapist providing daily yoga and massage to the trekkers.

He is qualified to fix light mechanical problems, but he is not a mechanic or a magician fixing anything. If your joints are sensitive, bring some straps.

Do not forget your good mood at home: share it with us.
