Be the first to skiing on Tibetan Dunes.
There are big dunes in Tibet, close to Lhasa airport.
Do you want to be part of the first trekking-skiing team exploring this area in May 2008 ? This is possible. I have been the first enjoying cross country skiing on these dunes in 2004.
Lhasa and around.
We will get acclimatised to the Lhasa altitude (3600 m. visiting different places of cultural interest, and you will have easy half day treks. We will practise daily Yoga and Massage and we will visit a small school of massage for blind children.
Accommodation at Yak hotel, downtown, close to the Tibetan settlement and Jokhand temple.
Trekking and Dune Skiing.
During five days, we will be trekking and dune skiing with camping along a big river. On our way, visiting Samye, the oldest Buddhist monastery where the University of Tibetan Medicine was created.
Starting from the river bank, at 3600 meters, the sand, blown by the wind, goes to the top of the mountains. Nordic cross country skis make the way up easier, and the descent funnier, but skiing is not compulsory on this journey.
Bring your ski equipment, and a sleeping bag because you can buy mountain equipment in Lhasa, but no cross country skis.
A permit is required to enter Tibet. The agency will take care of the formalities.

When flying in from Chengdu / China Chinese visa can be issued in your home country, scan of passport and visa are needed for permit procedure
Accommodation, transfers and any other services including flights to and from Lhasa can be booked through the agency
