The hamlet of Ailefroide is located 30 Km from Briançon, the highest European city. At the altitude of 1500 metres, under big trees, the summer temperature rises from 5 C° at sunrise to 20 C° at midday and 30 C° in the sun. The huge camp site of 17 ha was created for the families of teachers, but today you meet mountain lovers from all over the world. Ailefroide is the right place for entering “Les Ecrins”, a wonderful National Park.

You can enjoy trekking and mountaineering amongst protected wildlife and Alpine flora.

Les Ecrins is a famous mountain capped with snow and ice. This “4000 metres” is available for beginners with the local guides. Eric is used to skiing there. Look at his photos on Flicker.

To reach Ailefroide, you must cross the small city of l’Argentière where the Editions du Fournel made Eric’s second book: “Des Ecrins à l’Himalaya”. It will be available at the Chalet Hotel d'Ailefroide where Eric teaches yoga and massage.
